The Crossfield Chamber of Commerce Society is hiring a new Executive Director.

This a part time role, up to 20 hours a week on average with loads of flexibility with hours and location of work.  Public speaking experience and familiarity with Quick Books are encouraged for potential candidates.

The Crossfield Chamber offers a competitive wage, appropriate to the level of experience of the selected candidate.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Chamber
  • Report to the Board of Directors through the President of the Board of Directors
  • Lead the chamber in accomplishing the Board annual work Plan within approved budgetary guidelines.
  • Improve processes within budgetary framework to ensure high quality, customer-oriented service
  • Update Chamber Policy as required 
  • Oversee all chamber financial matters including Revenue, Expenses and Budget preparation; ensure profitability against budget throughout the year 
  • Use social media to communicate chamber and community happenings, member events and promotions
  • Ensure website content is up to date – communicate relevant updates to web provider and ensure content is updated accordingly 
  • Support the Board of Directors with Governance (including statutory compliance and Chamber Bylaws), Board Succession Planning, and completion of Board of Director Meeting
  • BOD monthly meeting Agendas and finalization and creation / distribution of all Meeting Minutes 
  • Meet with and maintain key partnerships with the Town of Crossfield, community groups etc. Attend meetings where opportunities present to influence and support the local business community 
  • Manage the chambers community and business profile and ensure protection and enhancement of the chamber brand in media, by attending Chamber and non-Chamber events and developing strategic partnerships and relationships 
  • Create, plan, market and manage various chamber events ranging in complexity and attendance from 10-200; attend, and keep accurate event record keeping for future use 
  • Work with members to help achieve their advertising and promotion objectives within the Chamber and on Discover Crossfield
  • Create sponsorship packages for some members; help identify other members for potential sponsorships throughout year 
  • Create and update all marketing materials including social media marketing, newsletters, support documents, membership documents 
  • Market, promote and communicate chamber happenings 
  • Manage accurate Member List including correct names, contacts, addresses, phone numbers, and categories 
  • Create and execute a strategic plan to manage, retain and increase membership for Chamber including prospecting and ensuring correct on-boarding of new members 
  • Manage the Chamber’s internal and external communications and act as official Chamber spokesperson in conjunction with the President of the Board 
  • Coordinate all aspects of the Chamber Bucks shop local program
  • Participate and represent the Chamber within the local, provincial and national network of Chambers of Commerce
  • Lead the chamber’s advocacy efforts; acting role of liaison, advocating on behalf of the membership with all levels of government, to ensure proactive and positive relations; take a non-partisan position on public policy issues, development and implementation
